FINIDP is an independent, indigenous non-governmental organisation with the purpose of increasing HIV/AIDS awareness educating orphans and disadvantaged children, promoting of income-generating activities, increasing women's access to technology, providing environmental education, and ensuring food security


Mission
"To improve peoples' livelihoods through education, increased HIV/AIDS awareness, poverty alleviation programmes and sustainable management of natural resources. "

"To build a literate, healthy, responsible and self-sustaining society living in a clean environment"

Goals and Objectives

1.Transformation programmes that include sensitisation and training of the community (school and out-of-school children, youths and the general public) in sustainable agricultural production and food security initiatives to improve family incomes, environmental conservation and alternative production and survival initiatives such as local chicken production and agroforestry.
2.Advocacy, especially on gender disparities.
3.Education support to HIV/AIDS orphans and children with disabilities and technical training of young adults who are no longer in school.
4.Initiatives in HIV/AIDS and community health that increase awareness on HIV/AIDS transmission, control, and risk perception of contracting HIV. Initiatives that provide support to HIV/AIDS patients and orphans through counselling, educational opportunities, home visits and needs-provision to enhance endurance and help reduce the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
5.Community development programmes that benefit the community as a whole, such as promoting safe water management and small income-generating activities.
