Geoffrey has one brother, Tamale Fred, with whom they live at Kauga village –Mukono with their sickly father, Zaali, who is down due to HIV/AIDS. Zaali confesses in a very low tone: “I divorced with my wife some time back but I can’t recall exactly when.” “Because of my sickness and weakness, I no longer work and hence I can hardly afford to pay school fees, buy school requirements and meet other requirements of my kids.” Godfrey confessed: “I’m not aware of where mum went and I don’t know if I can recognise her if I met her today.” “I miss parental love and care; I sometimes go hungry because we have no body to cook us food.” “Before my father got sick, we could get all our school requirements in time but it is no longer the case.” Godfrey’s performance is encouraging and his favourite subjects are science and maths. His ambition is to become a teacher. Godfrey promises to work very hard if given support.
