Joshua Muwanguzi

Joshua Muwanguzi, 14, lost his father in 1998, leaving him and two other children to their mother, Nassali Kisakye, a tailor in Kauga Village a suburb of Mukono town. Joshua narrated: “my father just disappeared in 1998 when I was just 6 years old, we never saw him again, and we don’t know where he is.” The mother, Nassali, who as well earns her meagre income from piggery, is the one supporting Joshua’s education. Nassali said: “I usually spend more than four weeks at home but I’m lucky that I’m bright enough because when I go back to school I can catch up with my colleagues.” “Who knows if I could even be the best student in class if I had an opportunity of attending school daily?”

Joshua is in senior two (S.2) at Bishop’s Senior Secondary School- Mukono and his favourite subjects are Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing and his ambition is to become an Architect. “I need a sponsorship to realise my dream so that I can help my family and others in need.” “Right now, I’m not in a good situation and I’m scared I may drop out of school if no body comes to my rescue.” “My mother is suffering from Tuberculosis and her health is deteriorating day after day.” “I desperately need a good Samaritan to overcome my miseries.” The Local council chairman, Mrs. Kamwaka, confirmed Joshua’s story and requested FINIDP staffs to do what they can to support Joshua’s studies.
