Oliver Nalube

Oliver Nalube, 10, lost her mother, Asia Namuli, in 2003 and father, Francis Musanya, to HIV/AIDS in 2003.Oliver now lives at Kampungu- Naalya village with her very old grandfather, Jafer Musoke. Unfortunately, Jafer is a peasant who can only feed his grandchildren and can hardly pay for their school requirements. Oliver has one brother, Ronald Kaddu, who is currently sponsored by FINIDP/Alliance Africa (www.allianceafrica.org).

Oliver is in primary four (P.4) at Paul Mukasa Primary School Kabembe. She said: “my major problems that I face are lack of parents so I miss parental care and love; I have no school fees, I’m always sent back home and sometimes I miss exams; I lack the basic clothing and bedding.” “I want to be a teacher, but I’m worried that I may not go far without support from good-hearted people.” Oliver is a bright kid going by her academic records and if supported she has the capacity to improve tremendously. Oliver said: “I deserve it because I’m a needy orphan living with poor and very old grandparents and my only brother, Ronald, is still in school and besides he is too young to support me.” “I will be very grateful if I get a sponsor towards my education, so that I can strive for a better future, and I will always share my problems with that sponsor, so that they can give me advice on how to move ahead.” “I promise to be a disciplined girl.”
