Tonny Muyomba

Tonny Muyomba, 12, lost his father, Mr. Balikuddembe, to HIV/AIDS in 1997. Tonny now lives at Seeta - Ntinda Zone with his mother, Mrs. Balikuddembe, who owns a small restaurant and earns too little money to look after her two children. Mrs. Balikuddembe said: “I have always tried to work hard but the children’s needs are much more than my income.”

Tonny told FINIDP staff, Dan: “when my dad died I sat home for a year without going to school.” “My mother is poor and I sometimes have to fetch water for people to get the money to pay for my school fees since my mother has very little money which she can only use to feed us.” Tonny is currently in primary seven (P.7) at St. Augustine primary school - Seeta. Tonny is a well-behaved and hardworking boy and above all his class performance is good enough. Tonny said: “my rather poor performance relates to my failure to attend class regularly due to school fees problems.” “I also lack books, and clothing.” My ambition is to become a medical doctor; I know I can improve if I settle in school and that is if any charitable person sponsors my education.”
