Veronica Naluwaga

Veronica Naluwaga, 11, lost her father, Dodovic Nkeesabukya, in 2007. Veronica said: “I have three sisters and one mother.” Veronica and her grandmother live at Kibooba village in Nama subcounty.  Veronica is currently in primary four (P.4) at Kisowera Primary school. Veronica is a sister to Angel Ndagire who is currently sponsored by FINIDP/Alliance Africa (www.allianceafrica.org) and upon this basis Veronica said: “Angella goes to school the very day the school term starts, because she is given everything she needs at school by her sponsors (FINIDP), but I always go to school after two to three weeks from the official opening date.” “And this is after my mother selling off some farm produce; this has always affected my performance.”

Veronica further said: “my grandmother has always worked hard to meet my needs yet she is a peasant; it has always been very hard for her to meet all my school needs and good enough we are understanding children, we go with whatever she can provide.” “My major needs are scholastic materials, school fees, beddings and clothing.” “My ambition is to become a teacher after my studies.” A critical assessment of Veronica’s academic records portrays a good and hardworking pupil. In her application letter to FINIDP, Veronica confessed: “at home we care about and love God, so I trust that God will help link me to a loving and caring sponsor.”
